Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You need a confirmed diagnosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (a specific type of esophageal cancer) that is at a stage where surgery is still possible.
  • You must not be allergic to indocyanine green (a dye used during the procedure) or iodine.
  • You cannot have had prior surgery on your esophagus or stomach that would change your anatomy.
  • Your tumor should not be located in the upper part of the esophagus near the neck or throat.
