Who can take part
- You have breast cancer that is stage I, II, or III (not spread to other organs).
- You are scheduled to receive a taxane chemotherapy (like paclitaxel or docetaxel) for at least 12 weeks, often before or after surgery.
- You have never had nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) or taken a taxane or platinum chemo before.
- You are not currently taking any allergy medicines (antihistamines), probiotics, laxatives, or antibiotics (within the last 4 weeks).
- If you could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use effective birth control during and for 28 days after treatment.
