This study tests a tongue strengthening exercise program for people who have had partial tongue removal and reconstruction. The goal is to see if these exercises can help you regain better tongue function and speech after surgery.

Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have never had head or neck cancer before.
- You have never had radiation therapy to the head or neck.
- You will have surgery to remove up to half of your tongue (partial or hemi glossectomy) with immediate reconstruction using a flap, and possibly neck dissection.
- You are able to read and write in English, French, Spanish, or Simplified Chinese to fill out study questionnaires.
- You do not have cancer that has spread to other parts of your body.
- You do not have any other major surgery planned on your jaw or more than half of your tongue removed.
