Who can take part

  • You have a diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD).
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have been referred for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
  • You do not have a history of seizures, epilepsy, or conditions that raise seizure risk.
  • You have no metal implants in your head (except dental fillings) or implanted medical devices like pacemakers.
  • You have no major cognitive problems (like dementia), and you have not attempted suicide in the last 6 months.
