Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older with a solid tumor cancer (like lung, breast, or nasopharyngeal cancer).
  • You have received radiation therapy (at least 45 Gy) for at least 2 weeks, alone or with chemo or other treatments.
  • Your platelet count is below 75 and you are still in or within one month of finishing radiation.
  • Your doctor expects you to live at least 12 more weeks and you are able to do daily activities (ECOG score 0-2).
  • You are not pregnant, not breastfeeding, and will use birth control during the study and for 6 months after.
  • You have not taken certain other platelet-raising medicines recently or participated in other drug trials in the past 4 weeks.
