Exercise Recovery After Heart Bypass Surgery

This study compares two types of exercise—elliptical machine workouts and Swiss ball exercises—to help people recover safely after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery, which is a common procedure to improve blood flow to the heart. The goal is to see which exercise method works better for improving fitness and heart health during recovery.

Exercise after heart bypass surgery

This trial tests if a program of aerobic and resistance exercises helps patients recover after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, which is a type of heart surgery. You may qualify if you had bypass surgery within the last 12 weeks and are between 40 and 65 years old.

Breathing and cycling after heart bypass surgery

This study tests whether combining a slow breathing technique (4-7-8 method) with stationary cycling can improve your blood pressure, quality of life, and shortness of breath after heart bypass surgery. It is for people who are recovering well and ready for a supervised exercise program.
