Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes by a doctor.
  • You can attend a 12-hour structured education class.
  • You are willing to come in for regular follow-up visits.
  • You are not currently having severe complications like kidney failure, vision problems, or recent heart issues.
  • You have not taken certain medications that affect blood sugar in the last 12 weeks (except for low-dose diuretics or thyroid hormone).
