Who can take part
- Your child is between 3 months and 6 years old
- Your child is scheduled for elective (non-emergency) hernia surgery on one side
- Your child is in good health overall (ASA I or II)
- No allergy to numbing medicines (local anesthetics)
- No bleeding problems (normal clotting and platelet counts)
- No infection near the injection site or skin in that area
- No nerve damage or skin issues that could affect heat imaging
