Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years old or older.
  • You need to be having a brain surgery or reconstructive surgery (like for blood vessels).
  • If you are having a brain tumor surgery, the tumor must be a suspected high-grade glioma (WHO grade III or IV), and you will be given a fluorescent dye called 5-ALA before surgery.
  • If you are having brain blood vessel or reconstructive surgery, you will be given a dye called Indocyanine Green (ICG) during surgery.
  • You cannot have a severe allergy to the dyes used (5-ALA or ICG) or to iodine-based substances (like contrast dye used in CT scans).
  • You cannot be a United States citizen.
