Stepper test for people with peripheral artery disease

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with peripheral artery disease by a heart surgeon.
  • Your ankle-brachial index (a blood pressure test in your ankle and arm) is 1.40 or less, or your exercise ABI is 0.73 or less, or you have calcified blood vessels.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are in stable condition and willing to take part.
  • You weigh 110 kg (about 242 lbs) or less because the stepper device has a weight limit.
