Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and have a blood cancer (like leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma).
- You have a multi-drug resistant (hard-to-treat) bacteria or fungus living in your body (even if not causing infection), OR an active C. diff infection, OR you've had a stem cell transplant (from yourself or a donor), OR you have steroid-resistant gut graft-versus-host disease after transplant.
- You do NOT have a bloodstream infection or very low white blood cell count lasting more than a week.
- You are not in septic shock (dangerously low blood pressure from infection).
- You have not had major stomach or intestinal bleeding in the last week.
- You can safely have a feeding tube placed through your nose.
