- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 30 or higher, and the extra weight is mostly fat.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, and you use effective birth control if needed.
- You have never had diabetes (except gestational diabetes during pregnancy).
- You are comfortable in small, enclosed spaces (like an MRI machine) and have no metal implants or devices that prevent an MRI.
- You can eat the study meals and have not used weight loss medications or diabetes drugs in the last 3 months.
