rTMS for walking difficulty in Parkinson's disease

Who can take part

  • Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease by a movement disorder specialist
  • Have mild to moderate Parkinson's (Hoehn and Yahr stages II or III)
  • Have trouble starting to walk (self-reported on the freezing of gait questionnaire)
  • Have taken Parkinson's medication (dopaminergic) in the past month
  • Score at least 23 out of 30 on a thinking and memory test (Montreal Cognitive Assessment)
  • No medical reasons that would make brain stimulation unsafe, like certain metal implants or epilepsy
