Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and enrolled in another study (14-AA-0181) for inpatient alcohol treatment.
  • You have a certain level of liver fat measured by a special ultrasound (CAP score over 295 dB/m).
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You do not have high cholesterol or high blood pressure that is already diagnosed.
  • You do not have diabetes (based on blood sugar test) or a waist-to-hip ratio above 0.90 (men) or 0.85 (women).
  • You are not taking cholesterol-lowering medications like statins or fibrates.
