Who can take part
- You must be at least 7 years old (older patients may be enrolled first).
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) with a specific gene change (COL7A1).
- You need to have blistered or open skin areas on your trunk or limbs that are large enough to receive at least three skin grafts (each about the size of a credit card).
- You must be able to travel to the study center and be healthy enough for anesthesia.
- You cannot have a history of skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) at the graft site, be allergic to cow proteins, or be pregnant or breastfeeding.
