Heart rehab for older adults with heart disease and muscle loss

Coronary DiseaseSarcopenia

Part of Brain & nervous system, Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study tests whether a special early heart rehab program (Phase I cardiac rehabilitation) can help older adults who have both coronary heart disease and sarcopenia (muscle loss). The goal is to see if it improves their strength and recovery.

NCT03649698Recruiting
Exercise and nutrition plan for loss of muscle with aging

This trial studies whether a structured exercise and nutrition program can improve muscle health in older adults with (pre)sarcopenia, especially those who may have slower walking or reduced strength. It also checks safety by excluding people with unstable health problems and several specific medical conditions.

Muscle loss in older patients with heart failure

This study looks at muscle loss (sarcopenia) in older patients (80+) hospitalized for heart failure with preserved pumping function. It may help doctors better understand how to care for this specific group.
