Who can take part

  • You have bladder cancer that has not spread outside the bladder (stage cT2, cT3, or cT4).
  • You are scheduled to receive cisplatin-based chemotherapy followed by surgery to remove the bladder.
  • You are willing to have three MRI scans: one before chemo starts, one 24 hours after the first chemo dose, and one after chemo is complete.
  • You have not had radiation therapy to the pelvic area.
  • You have no severe kidney problems.
  • You have not had any open or laparoscopic surgery in the pelvic area before.
  • Cancer has not spread to other parts of the body (no distant metastases).
  • You can safely have an MRI (no metal implants or other contraindications).
  • You are able to receive cisplatin chemotherapy.
