Vitamin K2 to prevent steroid bone loss in children

Who can take part

  • You are a child under 16 years old with nephrotic syndrome.
  • You are taking glucocorticoids (steroids) for the first time and have been on them for more than 6 months.
  • Your vitamin D level is at least 30 ng/mL (75 nmol/L).
  • You do not have kidney problems, conditions that affect vitamin absorption (like celiac disease), or a history of bone fractures or bleeding disorders.
  • Your nephrotic syndrome is not due to a known genetic cause.
