Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have beta-thalassemia (type B0 or B+) and need regular blood transfusions.
  • You have been getting blood transfusions every 1 to 8 weeks for at least 5 years.
  • You have not had a bone marrow transplant or a blood clot in the past.
  • You are not participating in another interventional study during this trial.
