The SWELL study: CBT for insomnia in older veterans

Who can take part

  • You must be 60 years or older and a veteran receiving care at a VA primary care clinic.
  • You must have chronic insomnia (trouble sleeping most nights for at least 3 months).
  • You cannot have a condition that makes CBTI unsafe, such as uncontrolled seizures, bipolar I disorder, or being too medically or psychiatrically unstable for a multi-session program.
  • The clinic you go to must be part of the VA and at least 25 miles from other VA clinics in this study.
