- You are a U.S. military veteran.
- You have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder and have not responded to at least two different antidepressant treatments.
- You are currently experiencing a major depressive episode (a period of intense sadness and loss of interest).
- You do not have a history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other psychotic disorders, and no immediate family member with these conditions.
- You have not used any psychedelic drugs (like LSD, psilocybin, MDMA, etc.) in the past 6 months.
- You do not have a severe head injury, certain heart problems, or other serious medical conditions that would make the study unsafe for you.
