- You are an adult diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
- You are scheduled to have open (not laparoscopic) colorectal surgery at the Regional Institute of Oncology in Iași, Romania.
- You have not had an arm or leg amputated.
- You are not paralyzed and do not have a condition that affects your muscles, like a stroke, nerve disease, or muscular dystrophy.
