Studying pneumonia in ventilated ICU patients

Ventilator Acquired PneumoniaMechanical Ventilation Complication

Part of Infections, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This study looks at different types of lung infections in ICU patients on breathing machines. By analyzing fluid from your lungs, researchers hope to better understand pneumonia and improve treatment.

Immediate or watchful waiting for antibiotics in possible pneumonia

This trial compares starting antibiotics right away versus waiting for more test results in people on a breathing machine who may have pneumonia. The goal is to find out which approach works better without causing harm.

Immune markers in ICU patients with pneumonia

This study looks at how the immune system reacts in ICU patients on a ventilator who have pneumonia. By measuring immune markers, the researchers hope to better understand and predict complications like ventilator-associated pneumonia.

Lung infection study in ICU patients

This trial tests a new way to better understand lung infections in very sick ICU patients. It looks at people with septic shock, severe trauma, or major burns to see if an infection is the cause.

Immune cells in the lungs of ventilated patients

This study looks at immune cells in the lungs of people on breathing machines. It aims to understand how these cells change in patients who develop pneumonia while on the ventilator.

Quick diagnosis of ventilator pneumonia in critically ill children

This study tests a new way to quickly diagnose pneumonia in children on breathing machines in the ICU. It uses information from the body and germs to find the right treatment faster.

Using a quick test and a treatment plan to choose the right antibiotics for pneumonia in the ICU

This trial tests whether using a fast respiratory test combined with a treatment plan can help doctors choose the right antibiotics sooner for patients in the intensive care unit who get pneumonia from a breathing machine. It aims to improve treatment and reduce unnecessary antibiotics.
