Pneumococcal vaccine study for children with sickle cell disease

Who can take part

  • You must be between 2 and 17 years old.
  • You must have a doctor's diagnosis of sickle cell disease.
  • If you are a female who can have children, you must not be pregnant or breastfeeding and agree to use birth control.
  • You cannot have received the 20-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine before.
  • You cannot have a weak immune system, a history of certain infections, or a serious neurological disorder.
