Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and are scheduled for radiation therapy to the prostate.
- Your prostate is at least 50 cc in size before the embolization procedure.
- Your urinary symptom score (IPSS) is 15 or higher before the procedure.
- If you are on hormone therapy or a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, you must have been on it for at least 12 weeks and still meet the prostate size and symptom score requirements.
- You have not had previous prostate treatments like TURP, laser therapy, or other minimally invasive procedures.
- You do not have a permanent urinary catheter, neurogenic bladder, active urinary tract infections, or severe allergies to contrast dye.
