Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and are scheduled for radiation therapy to the prostate.
  • Your prostate is at least 50 cc in size before the embolization procedure.
  • Your urinary symptom score (IPSS) is 15 or higher before the procedure.
  • If you are on hormone therapy or a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, you must have been on it for at least 12 weeks and still meet the prostate size and symptom score requirements.
  • You have not had previous prostate treatments like TURP, laser therapy, or other minimally invasive procedures.
  • You do not have a permanent urinary catheter, neurogenic bladder, active urinary tract infections, or severe allergies to contrast dye.
