- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are in the ICU for the first time during this hospital stay.
- You have severe acute kidney injury (stage 3).
- You started dialysis between 3 days before or up to 7 days after entering the ICU.
- You are not on long-term dialysis for kidney failure.
- You have not had a kidney transplant.
