Exercise during dialysis with blood flow restriction
Part of Kidney & urinary, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.
This study tests whether doing gentle exercise during dialysis with a special cuff that partly limits blood flow can help people on dialysis get stronger and feel better. It might be a good fit if you are on dialysis, not already exercising regularly, and have no serious health conditions that make exercise risky.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.

This trial tests whether doing resistance or aerobic exercise during dialysis can help prevent blood pressure drops in people on hemodialysis. It may help you if you often feel dizzy or lightheaded during treatment.
This trial tests if doing exercises while on hemodialysis can help people with end-stage kidney disease. It is for patients aged 50-60 who have been on dialysis for at least 3 months.
This study tests whether doing gentle exercise during your dialysis session can improve your health, help you cope better with your illness, and make you feel more positive about exercise. You'll be randomly assigned to either do the exercise during dialysis or receive usual care.
This study tests whether a program of regular, active exercise can help people on maintenance hemodialysis (a type of dialysis for kidney failure) feel better and improve their health. It's a chance to add gentle, supervised movement to your routine.
This study tests whether adding exercise during your dialysis sessions can improve your physical fitness, body composition, and survival. If you are on hemodialysis and meet the health criteria, you would either exercise while on the machine or receive standard care.
This trial tests if doing aerobic exercise during your regular dialysis sessions can help chronic kidney patients. If you are on hemodialysis, are between 20 and 65, and have a body mass index between 21 and 29.9, this study may be right for you.
