Who can take part
- You are 16 years or older
- You have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis that affects at least half of your colon or has been present for 8 years or more
- You are having a colonoscopy to check for changes in your colon (surveillance)
- You have not had any part of your colon removed before
- You are not taking blood thinners that cannot be stopped on the morning of the procedure
- You are not pregnant and are willing to take part in the study
