Testing a new mesh fixation system for laparoscopic hernia repair

This study is testing a new system (ECLIPSIUM) for fixing mesh during laparoscopic hernia repair. It aims to see if the system is safe and works well for people with a single midline hernia (ventral, umbilical, or incisional) that is small to medium size (1-5 cm). If you qualify, the study will help doctors repair your hernia with a special mesh that may reduce complications.

Who can take part

  • You are 22 years or older.
  • You have a single primary hernia (ventral, umbilical, or incisional) that is about 1 to 5 cm wide (measured during surgery).
  • You are scheduled for a laparoscopic hernia repair with mesh (the type of mesh the study uses).
  • You are willing to follow the study's instructions and come for follow-up visits.
  • You do not smoke more than one cigarette a day, and your BMI is 40 or less.
  • You have not had a previous hernia repaired with mesh in this same area.
