Part of Digestive system clinical trials.

This trial checks whether tiny plastic particles (microplastics) are present in the liver and body of people with cirrhosis who are having planned surgery or a liver transplant. It aims to understand if microplastics might make liver disease worse.

Plastics in blood and heart vessel function

This study looks at whether tiny plastic particles in the blood are linked to how well the small blood vessels of the heart work and to future heart health. If you are having a heart catheterization (a test to check the heart's blood vessels), your participation could help us understand these links.

NCT06965023Recruiting
Microplastics in heart attack patients

This trial looks for tiny plastic particles (microplastics and nanoplastics) in blood clots from people having a severe heart attack (STEMI) who need a procedure to open a blocked artery. It may help us understand if these particles are linked to heart attacks.

NCT07291609Recruiting
Microplastics in heart artery patients

This study looks for tiny plastic particles in the blood of people with chronic heart artery disease. You will have a standard CT scan and an invasive angiogram anyway, and researchers will check your blood samples for microplastics.

Study to detect liver cancer early in people with cirrhosis

This study follows people with cirrhosis to see how best to detect liver cancer early. If you qualify, you may receive regular monitoring that could help find liver cancer sooner, when treatment is more likely to work.

Liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension study

This trial is for people with liver cirrhosis who have high blood pressure in the vein that carries blood to the liver (portal hypertension). It uses a special ultrasound with contrast to learn more about the condition.

Nutrition and liver cirrhosis: a study of outcomes

This study looks at how nutrition affects the health of people with liver cirrhosis (scarred liver) and aims to build a tool to predict their outcomes. If you have cirrhosis, joining may help researchers find better ways to support your health.
