Study to detect liver cancer early in people with cirrhosis

This study follows people with cirrhosis to see how best to detect liver cancer early. If you qualify, you may receive regular monitoring that could help find liver cancer sooner, when treatment is more likely to work.

Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old (any gender).
  • You are able and willing to sign informed consent to join the study.
  • You have cirrhosis that has been diagnosed or can be confirmed by past testing.
  • Your cirrhosis is linked to one of these causes: hepatitis B, hepatitis C, alcohol-related liver disease, fatty liver disease, or hemochromatosis (iron overload).
  • You do NOT have a history of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma).
  • Your liver disease is not the most severe type (Child-Pugh C), and your care team thinks you are suitable for liver cancer surveillance.
