This trial uses a precise form of radiation therapy called stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) that tracks the tumor during treatment to destroy kidney tumors without surgery. It may be an option if you have a kidney tumor (primary or spread from another cancer) up to 10 cm in size and you haven't had radiation to that area before.

Who can take part

  • You have a kidney tumor (either from kidney cancer or cancer that spread to the kidney).
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • Your tumor (or all tumors together) is no larger than 10 cm (about 4 inches).
  • You are physically active enough to do light work or better (ECOG score 0–2).
  • You have not had radiation therapy to the kidney area before.
