This study uses ultrasound and nerve tests to examine the radial nerve in people who have a broken upper arm bone (humeral shaft fracture) and also have radial nerve palsy (weakness or paralysis on the back of the hand/forearm). Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have a broken upper arm bone (humeral shaft fracture) caused by an accident or injury.
- You also have radial nerve palsy (nerve injury causing weakness or paralysis on the back of your hand or forearm).
- You are willing and able to have an ultrasound and/or nerve test (EMG) as part of your care.
- You have not had a broken upper arm bone or radial nerve injury before this fracture.
- You do not have other serious injuries to the arm, like major blood vessel damage or severe tissue loss.
