Kawasaki disease match trial: identifying kids who need treatment

Who can take part

  • Fever for at least 3 days (either measured or felt by touch)
  • At least one fever measured at home or in the emergency room that is 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38.0 Celsius) or higher
  • At least one classic sign of Kawasaki disease, like rash, red eyes, changes in mouth or throat, red or swollen hands or feet, or a swollen neck gland (1.5 cm or larger)
  • For babies under 6 months old: fever for 7 or more days qualifies even if they do not have classic signs
  • Must need a blood draw or IV as part of regular medical care
