Checking for belly aneurysms after brain aneurysm

Aneurysm AbdominalCerebral Aneurysm Ruptured

This study checks if people who had a brain aneurysm (subarachnoid hemorrhage) later develop an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which is a bulge in the main artery in the belly. They will use an ultrasound to look at the abdominal aorta about a year or more after the brain bleed.

Who can take part

  • You must currently be in or have been in the SPARTA study, which looks at recovery after a ruptured brain aneurysm.
  • It has been at least one year since your brain aneurysm bleeding (subarachnoid hemorrhage).
  • You do not have Loeys-Dietz, Marfan, or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (genetic connective tissue disorders).
  • You must provide written permission (informed consent) to be part of this study.
