Who can take part

  • You have a ventral hernia with a gap of at least 4 cm wide.
  • Your hernia causes symptoms that make surgery necessary.
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are expected to live at least three more years.
  • You can understand spoken and written information and give your consent.
  • Your hernia does not need emergency surgery right now.
  • You are generally able to do daily activities without severe limitations.
