Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You had a chest tube placed because of a chest injury, such as a collapsed lung (pneumothorax), blood in the chest (hemothorax), or both.
  • You have not had any previous chest surgery on the same side as the chest tube.
  • Your wound is small enough to close without stitches.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder.
