Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You have a severe burn that covers more than 20% of your body, or you have an inhalation injury.
- Your burn was caused by hot liquid, fire, electricity, a hot surface, or a chemical.
- You were admitted to the hospital within 24 hours of your injury.
- You do not have inflammatory bowel disease or cancer.
- You have not had major stomach or bowel surgery before.
