Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older with a partial- or full-thickness burn
- Your burn care team expects you to have surgery (operative treatment) for the burn
- Your surgery includes tangential excision (cutting away burn tissue at the surface)
- Enough discarded burn tissue is available for testing (at least 4 grams total)
- Your burn tissue sample is not only from the genitals/perineum
