Who can take part

  • You are a physiotherapist at one of the three study sites (Bologna, Argenta, or Bagheria) who uses or has been trained on a scale that measures how much assistance patients need.
  • You are a patient admitted to one of the study hospitals for hip or knee replacement surgery for arthritis, for a revision of a previous hip or knee replacement, or for surgery to fix a broken hip or thigh bone.
  • You and your physiotherapist both agree to take part in the study voluntarily.
  • You have not refused or are unable to provide your informed consent.
