General vs spinal anesthesia for same-day knee or hip replacement

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You can understand and communicate in Swedish.
  • Your surgery is scheduled to start before 1:00 PM.
  • Your general health is good to moderate (ASA 1, 2, or 3 without major daily limitations).
  • You are not allergic to common anesthesia drugs like bupivacaine, remifentanil, or propofol.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or low red blood cell count.
