  • You are planning a first-time, one-sided knee replacement (for osteoarthritis) with spinal anesthesia
  • Your overall health status is fairly good (ASA class I, II, or III)
  • You can take part in follow-up by phone or online questionnaires after surgery
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have certain major bleeding or medical conditions that would stop use of the study medicines
  • You meet key safety checks (no severe liver/kidney disease, not very low body weight, and blood sugar is controlled)
