Who can take part

  • Child must be nearsighted with a prescription between about -6.5 and +2 diopters (using special eye drops to get accurate measurement)
  • Must have social security coverage
  • Both parents (or the only parent with legal authority) must sign a consent form
  • No other serious eye conditions (like glaucoma or retinal disease) or eye surgeries
  • No neurological conditions (like epilepsy, balance problems, or coordination issues)
  • No eye movement problems (like strabismus or nystagmus)
  • No MRI contraindications (like claustrophobia or a pacemaker)
