  • You have symptoms like belly pain, black poop, constipation, or diarrhea
  • You are having a colonoscopy to check for problems
  • You do not have inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's or colitis)
  • You have never had colorectal cancer or surgery for it
  • You do not have familial polyposis syndrome (a condition that causes many colon polyps)
  • You do not have a blocked intestine or other cancer
