Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 75 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus that has not spread to distant organs (except possibly to lymph nodes near the collarbone).
  • Your cancer is considered unresectable or borderline resectable because it has grown into nearby structures or cannot be safely removed.
  • You have not had any prior cancer treatment like chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy.
  • Your blood counts, liver and kidney function, and heart function meet specific safety levels.
  • You are willing to use contraception during the study and for 6 months after, if applicable.
