Who can take part

  • You are older than 7 years.
  • Your eardrum is healthy (no holes, infections, or damage).
  • You do not currently have an ear infection (otitis media).
  • You do not have a cold, sinus infection, or other upper respiratory infection right now.
  • You have not had radiation therapy to your head or neck.
  • You do not have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  • You have never injured the bone around your ear (temporal bone).
