Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy or dilated cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease not due to blocked arteries).
  • Depending on where you live (BC or Alberta), you have additional features: in BC, this includes a family history, heart rhythm issues, or diagnosis under age 70; in Alberta, this includes a specific measure of heart pumping function (LVEF less than 50%) with heart enlargement.
  • You have not already had genetic testing that found a cause for your heart condition.
  • You agree to genetic testing.
