Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You are scheduled for a flexible bronchoscopy (a lung airway exam with a camera).
  • Your physical health status is rated as I, II, or III by the anesthesiologist (generally healthy to moderate illness).
  • You are able to give written informed consent to join the study.
  • You do not have a history of bronchial asthma or breathing problems triggered by NSAID pain relievers (like ibuprofen or aspirin).
  • You are not allergic to midazolam or NSAIDs (including ketorolac).
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder, low platelet count, active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or liver disease.
  • You do not take strong pain medicines (opioids) or sedatives (benzodiazepines) regularly.
  • Your heart and lungs are stable (no respiratory failure or need for high-flow oxygen).
