- Your child is 3 to 18 years old and has been diagnosed with autism
- Your child is scheduled for a planned (not emergency) surgery
- Your child is generally healthy or has only mild health problems (ASA class I or II)
- You or your child's caregiver can read and understand Turkish
- You are willing to read the storybook with your child at home before the surgery
