Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have liver fibrosis (scarring) from chronic hepatitis B or fatty liver disease.
  • Your liver is not too severely damaged — certain blood tests (bilirubin, liver enzymes) must be within a specific range.
  • You have not had cancer (except for some minor skin or early-stage cancers) in the past 5 years.
  • You have not used the medicine interferon in the last 3 months.
  • You agree to use effective birth control if you could become pregnant or father a child, during the study and for 6 months after.
